Taking a bite of the circus

Not even a lifelong struggle with coulrophobia—that’s fear of clowns—could keep your intrepid Radar reporter from checking out the Big Apple Circus’ 30th anniversary show, Celebrate, at Stone Mountain Park last weekend. Not when there were dazzling acrobats (center), dancers, hula-hoop artistry, breathtaking horses and Irina Markova’s talented troupe of cats and dogs (like this cute little guy, left). The whole thing was an absorbing spectacle of sight and sound—even the circus’ beloved Grandma the Clown (right) was kind of cool. You know—for a clown.
