Last week, Gwinnett County District Attorney Danny Porter informed The Sunday Paper that he will pursue charges against a urologist on faculty at Emory University Medical School in connection with the prostitution case against the “Mansion Madam.”

Porter plans to bring pandering charges against James “Jay” O. Morgan III. He expects these to be the last charges in the case.

It has been well over a year since Porter initiated the investigation into the goings-on at 2800 Sugarloaf Club Drive, the address of the aforementioned madam’s “mansion,” resulting in the arrests of two women (on charges of prostitution) and five men—three on charges of pandering and two others on drug charges.

Lisa Ann Taylor, who worked under the name Melissa Wolf and who came to be known as the “Mansion Madam,” pled guilty last October to charges of prostitution, keeping a house of prostitution, and cocaine possession. Prostitution is a misdemeanor; more serious charges of racketeering were dropped. Taylor was sentenced to seven years probation, ordered to pay a $150,000 fine and undergo treatment for drug and alcohol abuse.

All charges against the other woman who was arrested, Nicole Alaine Probert, who was charged with prostitution, and one of the men, Daniel Marfione, who had been charged with pandering, were dropped in exchange for their cooperation with law enforcement in the investigation.
Kerry Kruzel, a chiropractor whose home address is listed in Cumming, and Alexander “Billy” Rider, whom court documents identify as a member of the sales team at Bill Heard Chevrolet at the time, were also charged with pandering—that is, being prostitution customers, or “johns,” a misdemeanor—based on evidence gathered through surveillance, bank records and witness testimony, all of which was corroborated by information gleaned from wiretaps. Last December, both were sentenced to 12 months probation and required to pay a $1,000 fine. Porter informed The Sunday Paper on June 3 of his plans to pursue charges against Morgan in connection with the case, now, more than six months after Kruzel and Rider were sentenced.

“Really it was an oversight,” Porter says of the delay in bringing charges against Morgan. “But I can’t just leave that hanging out there.”

The rate of the case’s disposal illustrates how hard it can be to prosecute in the realm of high-dollar prostitution. Porter doggedly pursued his suspects even as the IRS and the FBI showed no interest in delving into substantial evidence regarding income-tax evasion and prostitution across state lines.

Would-be clients name their employers

“Lisa Ann Taylor has Barton Corbin to thank for her arrest,” says Porter, wearing a purple T-shirt, tan cargo pants and sneakers one recent afternoon in his office at the Gwinnett County Justice Center. “There was a delay of about nine weeks during the Barton Corbin case, and I am a poster boy for the phrase about idle hands being the devil’s workshop. So an anonymous person had sent a letter to an editor over at the Gwinnett Daily Post, and the editor had forwarded that on to me.”

Porter, whose voice sounds like a four-wheel-drive’s tires rolling over gravel, relates how, during the caesura in the case of now-imprisoned wife murderer Corbin, he decided to while away the time doing some Internet research on Taylor, a 43-year-old former Penthouse “pet” who used the pseudonym “Melissa Wolf.”

“Within a matter of a couple of days, I went to the investigators and told them that we probably had enough information to pursue a racketeering case against Taylor,” he says.

Taylor and Probert were busted in January 2007 when Gwinnett County police officers executed search warrants at Probert’s residence in the Edgewater subdivision and at Taylor’s Sugarloaf Country Club residence.

Taylor protested to officers that she’d “rather have a Xanax and a cocktail” when they asked her to come with them, but was eventually hustled into handcuffs and hauled off to the Gwinnett County Detention Center. A search of Taylor’s home turned up two boxes of tax records, as well as two years of appointment records listing monetary amounts earned for services rendered, which never showed up in Taylor’s taxes. Porter did the math and determined that Taylor’s prostitution had pulled in about $150,000 in unreported income. So, he called the IRS.
“They came out, looked through her records, and I never heard anything else about it,” says Porter. He doesn’t know why the IRS didn’t pursue the issue further. Former Atlanta Mayor Bill Campbell, after all, went to prison for not reporting a little more than $160,000 in income. Normally, tax evasion gets the IRS’ attention.

Citing the service’s policy of not commenting on private individuals’ tax records, IRS Spokesman Mark Greene declined to comment for this story.

Taylor kept meticulous “client information sheets.” In order to get an appointment with her, would-be clients submitted an information sheet via her Web site, which listed naughty phone calls and other services. The information sheets included the client’s full name, his place of employment, phone numbers, home address, references from other prostitutes or escort agencies, and his preferences. Among them, a couple of prospective customers listed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce as their employers.

Some commented on the form that they had met with “Melissa Wolf” before, and in some cases previously had seen “Melissa Wolf” and a woman who worked under the name Amanda Foxx or Amanda Foxxx. One prospective customer wrote that he wanted a “One hour incall with you and Amanda but will see either if both not available. I have seen Amanda before.” Another who listed a brokerage firm as his employer commented, “Since I have already seen Amanda, I would like to see you first then, if things go well I would like to schedule the two of you together.”

Dear Sunday Paper
Why do you break copyright law? Your graphic used pictures from Melissa's web site, each one flashed the copyright notice before you copied it. Republication would not be permitted. Furthermore, pictures on the left side including the interior of her house would have been copied from the realtor site. Her realtor is a good friend and would not have permitted a republication for your article.
Shame on you! Melissa have have grounds for a lawsuit. You go, girl!
Hugs for Melissa

Dear Sunday Paper
Me again. There are several inaccuracies in your article. I noticed that you pulled down one of the wiretaps, probably because someone's name was mentioned who was not in the article and had nothing to do with the wiretap. I heard it before you took it down and I know him!! You should consider taking down some others. I can forsee many problems for you legally if you leave them up.
Shame on you!
Hugs for Melissa!!

Dear Sunday Paper
Just me again. I happen to know for a fact that the xanex/cocktail joke was just that... a joke. You have misrepresented that statement into something that is very close to slander implying that she wanted to do just that!
Shame on you.
Hugs for Melissa!!!

manny kroger, ever heard of the 1st Amendment? this is an investigative news story on a high profile criminal investigation that's been all over the national news for months -- the paper has every right to show us (in color photos, to be precise) exactly what our neighbors are doing right next door. thankfully, in this country, you can't censor news coverage of an ongoing criminal investigation by slapping a copyright label on a photo. If that's the way you want your press, go move to Russia.

kudos SP for some excellent investigative reporting. wish this town had more papers with the guts to break stories like this one.

Good morning Mr. Mike South:

I have reposted your original comments below. I took the liberty of taking them off the site Saturday pending advice from our counsel re: any possible legal issues involved in your post about the identity of "Neal B." in our story. Based on what you allege regarding that person's identity, I'm sure you understand our caution. Your original post from Saturday follows. Thanks for reading and for visiting our Web site.

You guys are complete idiots.

I know who Neal B is and I know how and why is name is in her book.

Lisa is my friend as is Neal, we all had lunch together ONE time and it was determined that she might do a n on air appearance at some point, as I have several times.

Neal is in my book as well and I am a porn Director, does that make him a porn star.

The lack of integrity of this report is appalling.

The "Neal B." in question is listed with a "DCT" next to his name. As the court records show, "DCT" is an acronym for "dreams come true" and Taylor used it to denote a client. I am sorry if this "Neal B." is a friend of yours and you feel embarrassed for him or protective of him, etc. But is it not possible, Mr. South, that this is not the "Neal B." of whom you are thinking? After all, how intimately acquainted with Ms. Taylor's appointment book were/are you? By the way, those images are all included in the criminal file which is a public record in the District Attorney's office. The 1st Amendment is a beautiful thing, as surely a porn director can attest.

As for the comment about the audio files--they're going back up..there was a delay. However, all of this has everything to do with the investigation. We got those audio files from the actual investigation file in the D.A.'s office.

Stephanie, honey....reading is fundamental try reading the passage again

In her appointment book, Taylor listed more than 120 clients denoted with the acronym “DCT.” Almost all are listed with both first and last name. Only four are not. Of the four, two are from out of town: “Kenric” in Newark, N.J. and “Dennis” in Blue Mound, Ill. The other two, “Cowboy” and “Neal B.” are local.

It clearly states that DCT was NOT associated with Neal B.

Commentby Mike | Monday, June 09, 2008, 1:52 PM

Oh and lets talk about DCT

Heres what it really means

" yes it does stand for “Dream Come True” which is lunch or dinner at a restaurant of your choice or perhaps a day at the mall or a dance or a photo session. I have attached a newspaper article from my scrap book not sure if you can read the date, but yes I did “Dream Dates” for Charity, lots of Charities and did them for years"

Commentby Stephanie | Monday, June 09, 2008, 1:58 PM

Mike South, please allow me to assist you in your reading. Usually, as I am sure your grade school teacher taught you, a sentence is modified by either the sentence before or after it, given that there is no dependent clause (hence the sentence stands alone). That being the rule, please note the sentence exactly previous to the one you cite. Now, let's try this again. Take a deep breath and now, read the sentence just before it..."Almost all are listed with both first and last name. Only four are not. Of the four, two are from out of town: “Kenric” in Newark, N.J. and “Dennis” in Blue Mound, Ill. The other two, “Cowboy” and “Neal B.” are local."
Aha! See that? That's right, Mike, it refers to the sentence about how almost all are referred to by both first and last name, but these are not. All of this is of course an explanation of the previous paragraph which relates how Taylor only listed the first names of well-known clients. I have no more time for you and your attempts to identify someone whom we have not identified, or rather your attempt to cash in on short term notoriety. Why don't you go back to the Loaf where they are more than happy to do cover stories about your work?

Commentby Gladys | Monday, June 09, 2008, 2:02 PM

It pretty clearly states that Cowboy and Neal B. were the only two marked DCT that didn't have their last names listed. Plus, didn't Stephanie write this story? How could she be the one reading it incorrectly?

Anyway, looks like Mike South is the first one to start bringing any allegations of identity to the table here.

Shwoops.

Commentby Mike | Monday, June 09, 2008, 9:13 PM

Well here's the bottom line. In a way I am responsible for all this nonsense. I introduced the two of them. Lisa came to lunch with me one day when I was having lunch with Neal.

He has never hidden the fact that he and I are friends, I have been a guest on his show several times and we have a personal friendship as well. I am also friends with Allen Hunt, does that mean he is up to no good too?

Not one person from this magazine bothered to ask me anything, because if they had there wouldn't be a story.

I know what you are trying to do here you are trying to build readership for your little fish wrapper. You are using an old and played out story and trying to breathe new life into it.

Do you honestly think that publicity whore Danny Porter wouldn't have had a field day if there was one shred of evidence of wrong doing on Neals part...I mean here's a man that would trample a half dozen babies to get his face on camera.

If you want to create a worthy newspaper stop trying to imitatate The Weekly World News and do some real Journalism.

"Trite? Perhaps so ... cliché? You bet. True? Absolutely. You are known by the company you keep ..." -"Neal B." speaking about Barack Obama's relationship with Rev. Jeremiah Wright (Nealz Nuze, March 17, 2008 - http://boortz.com/nuze/200803/03172008.html)

I doubt Neal B. is really your friend, Mr. South. I find it hard to believe that someone as self-absorbed and shallow as you has ANY real friends. On the other hand, we are talking about Neal B.

Commentby Vote | Monday, June 09, 2008, 10:26 PM

By the way... you wouldn't know real journalism if it punched you in the face. You're a pathetic smut peddler, Mr. South. Plain and simple. Here's hoping you grow a conscience one day.

Commentby Stephanie | Tuesday, June 10, 2008, 10:58 AM

"If anyone from the magazine had asked [you]"? This story was not about you. Why on earth would anybody interview you for this story? Because you had lunch with someone?

Commentby Mike | Tuesday, June 10, 2008, 12:58 PM

Stephanie, I shouldn't have to tell you this but when you want the truth about something go straight to the source. It's pretty well known that I introduced Lisa Taylor and Neal B, so wouldn't someone looking for the real story take the time to ask me? The AJC did, so did WSB, hell even Hustler Magazine did.

As for vote obama congratulations man, you proved yourself to be an idiot. I'd rather tell people I had a sister in a whorehouse than a brother a stupid as you.

OK I have wasted enough time on this thats the end bye y'all have fun. GFY Sunday Paper

Mike, you're missing one critical point here.

Our story at no time makes any allegation as to the identity of the "Neal B" found in Lisa Ann Taylor's records--or of anyone else named in her records who has not been arrested or charged with anything in connection with her case. The only one doing that, you might notice, is you. Our story merely reports verifiable facts we've uncovered--no more, no less.

We agree on one thing, though: You seem to be wasting your time getting angry at The Sunday Paper for-- what? For not contacting you for information about someone who is neither clearly identified in those records nor is charged with any crime?

Again, thanks for writing to us and for reading The Sunday Paper.

It's obvious that the situation with Miss Taylor is merely a smoke screen to make one appear reputable in an increasing political climate. The situation is viewing Lisa as an example to be exploited by the politicians and attorneys. The reason the IRS did not pursue this issue any further is because there was not anything to pursue. When you live in a society that downgrades independent businesses in turn the larger organizations should be held accountable. If you are attempting to find ethical issues within in in doings from Miss Taylor then you should take a long hard look into your self and understand how what is being done is only hendering the progress of society. In short let go making a name for your self from a vastly negative perspective. It's ironic when you realize that she maybe more qualified for your position than you are. If anything the IRS and the FBI should investigate those that seek to abuse their power by making others look like scum. There are obviuosly those that Have her back and I am proud to say that I am in deed one of them. Love to Lisa ,BGW

The Neal B. can't be Boortz, all indications coming from the gay grapevine Neal's gay, and not a switch-hitter!

Commentby Ian Martin | Monday, June 23, 2008, 4:41 AM

I am the estranged soon to be ex-husband that you indicated provided "Much of the evidence against Lisa Taylor."
Based on my painfully ingrained recollection of events, I am compelled to respond to your article. You or your sources have made some errors in the facts. I was approached by the DA office and was informed that I might be charged with producing pornography in GA; Guilty by association you might say. At that time, I responded by saying " I thought I couldn't be asked to testify against my Wife". They then responded with, as we were separated, that may not be the case. Yes I decided to speak to them several weeks later, once I was aware that they already had several other testimonies of complicit witnesses, and I would not be a factor in building their case. Yes I did tell them that DCT meant Dream Come True. Lisa used that reference for Innocent paid dinner dates ending with a private lap dance with her many fans for years. Yes I admitted to leaving the house during her private DCT as far as I know LE knew that already also. I did ask for a reference for a divorce lawyer, it made sense to me at the time. Who better to ask then the DA office! Contrary to popular belief, I am being billed monthly for his service. Although most of your readers may think my corrections to your report is just semantics, it is not for me. I have been subjected to a great deal of slanderous and prejudicial comments in my defunct sphere of influence and in the public domain. Gossip that has resulted in hate e-mail, threats, and job loss. I provided much of nothing. Too bad you missed out on the sordid details of those who did!

^^ Sounds to me, who has no stake in this, that Ian is going to be owing the law enforcement agencies some money for all this wasted time and effort. Anyone who can't see this for what it is is a little..well...extreme or the paranoid type. Big waste of taxpayer money is right...and smearing a lot of local people with it...not good press for the law agencies is it? Following up on sour grapes from a peeed off soon-to-be ex-oldman. Funny, a lot of these claims are similar in D-cases with entertainers and the Atlanta public should either be turned off by it or outraged. Seems there are some privacy issues being disregarded here as well. Good Luck Mel...hope the dead weight gets its due. V

Duh, the voice in the link above is obviously Boortz.
If I was an attorney for a client arrested, charged and publicly humiliated in this matter, I'd want to know why "Neal B" has gotten a pass.
