AN EVENING OF CULTURAL CONNECTIONS

AN EVENING OF SOUTHERN COMFORT

GEORGIA RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL
The annual fair features jousting knights and a host of other performances, as well as plenty of turkey legs and other refreshments. The event continues through June 1 and takes place from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and Memorial Day on the festival grounds off I-85 South at exit 61. MARGARITAS & IMAX
The Fernbank Museum’s popular “Martinis & IMAX” mixer receives a festive, Cinco de Mayo twist featuring special Margarita-tinis and loaded chicken taco salads, current IMAX screenings (“Journey Into Amazing Caves,” “Grand Canyon Adventure” and “Mystic India”) and live music by Kompani. METROPOLIS MARKET DAY
Block party-type event hosted by residents and businesses of the Metropolis building at 8th and Peachtree Streets, featuring sidewalk sales by restaurants including Silk and Taco Mac, as well as a yard sale. 10 a.m. Saturday, May 3 on 8th Street, which will be closed to traffic. ATLANTA SCHOLA CANTORUM SPRING CONCERT

COUCH PARTY
This weekly improv event, hosted by Lucky Yates, Mike Schatz and Amber Nash, takes place every Thursday night at the Laughing Skull Lounge at the Vortex on Peachtree Street. THE LION KING

BEFORE AND AFTER GAUGUIN: THE ART OF PRINTMAKING IN BRITTANY 1740 TO 1940
This exhibit shows how the French artist Paul Gauguin influences the printmaking traditions in Brittany. Through May 11 at the Oglethorpe University Museum of Art. Admission is $10 and $5 for students and senior citizens. Children under 12 are admitted free. 404-364-8555. www.oglethorpe.edu.

COURAGE: THE VISION TO END SEGREGATION, THE GUTS TO FIGHT FOR IT
This exhibit tells the story of Rev. J.A. De Laine and other citizens of Clarendon County, S.C. as they fought to end the legal segregation of schools. Their lawsuit was one of five that led to the Supreme Court case Brown v. Board of Education. On display through June 22 at the Atlanta History Center. THE LOUVRE AND THE ANCIENT WORLD
