Whiskey Park

A whole new world
Cindy Crawford’s husband Rande Gerber, along with Scott Gerber, created Whiskey Park, and it’s their 30th lounge worldwide. In its first week, it played host to Crawford, Dallas Austin, Gnarls Barkley, Tommy Lee and Cee-lo. Two weeks ago, both Charles Barkley and Jermaine Dupri were spotted there.

The lounge has three distinctly different, stylishly designed areas, offering 23 feature cocktails. Just from those facts alone, one can tell Whiskey Park is big time.
Located in the widely acclaimed new W Atlanta – Midtown, Whiskey Park has a spacious, urban, modern feel. The servers wear short, black cocktail dresses and knee-high boots, and a DJ plays Top 40 dance hits, rock and mash-ups Thursday through Saturday. Guests, mostly ages 25 and older with high incomes, dress to impress, exuding a sexy, energetic vibe. On the third floor of the hotel, Whiskey Park boasts an expansive bar, leather couches and a scenic patio. It’s a step up from other Atlanta lounges. —Carly Felton

HALO

Not quite New York City
A triple-level concrete lounge with warm, wood paneling, HALO Lounge can’t seem to decide if it’s a trendy, big-city club or a laid-back, local bar. There’s no dance floor or disco ball, but as the night progresses, guests dance anyway. Live DJs play a wide variety of music, from bossa rhythms and breakbeats to honey house and mondo electro, and notable guest DJS include Turntables on the Hudson, Ed Royal, Kyoto Jazz Massive, Thunderball and Kid Beyond. Just don’t come determined to hear your favorite tunes; HALO’s mantra is “No requests. Just relax and enjoy.”

Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday are the happening nights at this seven-year-old Midtown lounge, where the signature cocktail, called Dark & Stormy, is prepared with house-made ginger beer. Beginning in the fall, HALO will offer food as well as drinks. With a clientele as diverse as its offerings, HALO attracts a steady stream of guest from all over. —Carly Felton
