A NOVEL AFFAIR
A night of eating, drinking and dancing, featuring a reception with authors Carmen Deedy, Joshilyn Jackson, Terry Kay and J. Tom Morgan. Live entertainment by the Metro Jazz Trio. A silent auction will raise funds for the DeKalb County Public Library’s literacy programs. FODFEST
Concert tour honoring the late Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, who was captured and killed by terrorists in 2002. WALK TO CURE DIABETES
Most kids excitedly anticipate the coming of Halloween and the mounds of sugar-filled loot that they will collect. For the approximately 3 million Americans suffering from Juvenile Diabetes, Halloween is not so sweet. A CAPPELLA IN THE PARK
The Atlanta-based women’s a cappella group Octave performs at this benefit for Mostly Mutts, an Acworth animal rescue and pet adoption agency. The Christian vocal group Breakdown and the Agnes Scott College a cappella group Luchsingers also perform. There will also be a Frisbee dog show and a parade of pups. A CONCERT OF RUSSIAN AND EASTERN EUROPEAN FOLK MUSIC AND DANCE
