Seven onion soup at Salt Factory
By Hope S. Philbrick
Fever, headache, exhaustion, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose and muscle aches. It’s flu season, and constant reminders abound in news reports tracking the progress of H1N1 as well as those wheezing sounds you hear coming from your co-worker’s cubicle. Even if you do everything you’re supposed to do—get vaccinated, wash your hands, cover your mouth when coughing and nose when sneezing—you can still get the flu.
To help prepare for flu season, we tracked down and taste-tested several soups—because everyone from grandmas to doctors recommends eating soup when you’re sick! The soups on our list are tasty, comforting, satisfying and nutritious, dairy-free and mildly spiced for sensitive tummies, and are available for pick-up or delivery. These soups not only provide necessary fluids, they taste so good you may want to eat them even when you’re healthy.
