IN GOOD COMPANY
Last week, Bloomingdale’s launched Artrageous, a 16-week celebration of contemporary art and creative talents. The store’s approach to windows, advertising, marketing, mannequin displays, in-store exhibitions, guest appearances and performances, corporate philanthropy and community involvement from coast to coast is getting a cultural makeover. Now through Sept. 16, Atlanta stores (in Lenox Square and Perimeter Mall) display a plethora of artistic works by Savannah College of Art and Design students, faculty and alumni. www.bloomingdales.com.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY
Tanya Muina took a bite of her own sweet slice of the American dream when she opened her Vinings boutique, Cherry Pie, last September. The capital that allowed her to pursue life, liberty and fashionable happiness came from her boyfriend’s mother, Kathy Shorthouse, who lost her 10-year battle against ovarian cancer in 2005. While it’s been a busy year and Muina has spent most of it within the four walls of Cherry Pie, she says it’s been the most fulfilling and exciting year of her life and feels she owes it all to Shorthouse for her encouragement, mentoring and financial support. “I wish she could see the joy the store has given me,” says Muina. “For the first time in my life, I can say with total honesty that I love my job. That is a huge gift.” In memory of her benefactor and to celebrate the anniversary of the boutique, Muina’s putting on the ritz with the Pink Carpet Event on Sept. 14, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Vinings Pavilion (next to the Village Inn). The proceeds from ticket sales and sale of auction items, such as a Radiance Medspa laser hair removal package, a shoe wardrobe from Ann Ross shoes, a Spanx gift basket and a jewelry ensemble from local designer Jamie Diane, which retails for more than $500, will be donated to the American Cancer Society to support the research of ovarian cancer. Tickets are $50; available at Cherry Pie (678-556-0708) or online at www.xorbia.com/tickets/cherrypie.
YOU DESERVE A LASHING
Flirting is a whole lot easier with long, full lashes. Sex yours up a la Beyoncé and Denise Richards with NovaLash Eye Extensions, a new method of enhancing the length and thickness of eyelashes. Extensions are applied lash by lash (for that natural look), and they last up to eight weeks—about the length of time it takes for your eyelashes to fully grow out. They must be meticulously applied by a professional, and can cost anywhere from $100 to $300. Get your vixen on at participating salons in Atlanta—a full list is available at www.novalash.com. SP
